Privacy Policy for Frontend Inspector
Effective date: April 16, 2026
Frontend Inspector is a Chrome extension that helps users inspect frontend implementation details on the active web page, including colors, spacing, typography, layout, assets, and accessibility information.
Single Purpose
The single purpose of Frontend Inspector is to provide local frontend inspection tools for the active web page when the user explicitly activates the extension.
Data Access
The extension can access website content on the active tab only after the user activates the inspector. This access is used to read element styles, computed CSS values, image information, layout information, and accessibility attributes so they can be displayed locally in the browser.
Data Storage
The extension may store small local preferences and saved color values, such as the user's saved color palette. This data is stored locally in the user's browser.
Data Sharing
Frontend Inspector does not collect, transmit, sell, or share user data with third parties. The extension does not send inspected website content, browsing history, or saved colors to any external server.
Remote Code
Frontend Inspector does not use remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, images, and extension assets are packaged with the extension.
Permissions
- activeTab: Used to inspect only the tab the user explicitly activates.
- scripting: Used to inject the packaged inspector script into the active tab.
- storage: Used to save local preferences and saved color values.
